Moving On.

The suitcase was almost full.

Mike looked around his half of the room, checking to see that he’d gotten everything. It looked like it was all in the bag or in the boxes in storage (for a little while). Only three things still sat on the bare mattress: a piece of his past, and two parts of his ...

The Voyage Home (Closed)

Oroborous was beautiful, and they'd found a particularly gorgeous place. The double waterfall that emptied down into the vast pool beneath them was breathtaking, but in Mike's mind it all took second place to the girl sitting next to him. Shelly was luminous in the half-light, and she blushed when ...

Re: Study Time

Mike appeared in a rush of wind, blowing some of the books off the shelving cart behind Sister Salvation. "Ohno!I'msorry, hangon!" he cried. The books were suddenly back in place, in no particular order and often upside down. He stopped in front of the desk and smiled his most disarming smile.

The ...

"Indeed," said Kara. "I do not understand how people who go to this school feel that it is possible to tease someone for being unusual. That was not a dig, by the way, Malcolm. I have my own...eccentricities. Please do not let the actions of a few dictate your opinion of the school, okay? My offer ...

*a voice floats out of one corner of the room*

As I've said before, Mal, I can whip up an illusion for you. I have never tried to place one on another person, but I do not see how it can be very hard.

*Kara Evans fades in, holding a book and watching the three boys*

All this is illusion, *she ...

[In a precise, measured hand]

Dear mother and father,

Paragon City is a wonderful place. The people here are quite accepting of differences. And I have been through many changes since coming here. I understand that you had a hard time with me when I was growing up. Well, unfortunately, I have not ...

Mike swore softly as the call went out over the comm. He'd been clearing out the debris. He wasn't super-strong or anything, but he was able to carry small stuff. And if you gave him the right tools...eventually the big stuff became small stuff. He was getting quite an education in small-scale ...

*Mike runs by*

I, Michael Evans, promise to make every inch of land in Paragon so expensive that the invaders will have no choice but to give up. And I promise to live.

The Weight of the World

Mike didn't sleep anymore. He didn't allow it; ther ewas too much to do. He was sifting through rubble in Steel Canyon, his mind and body working so fast that most other people saw little more than a blur.

Paragon City was awesome to him. When he'd lived in Ukiah, he had just been the class spaz ...

Brainbomb!

Kara was studying spatial relationships in 4-dimensional spaces when she first felt...something. She was used to the background of noise from the city, and since her powers had expanded so that she felt more than mere pain, she had also learned to tune the emotions and sensations to a background hum ...

I know that Mike has a hard time with the curfew; he sleeps three hours and is active for six or seven (approximate figures, all). Is there any way that he might have access to the library or something after hours?

Or, he likes being useful. He'd make a heck of a dishwasher. =)

Mike was, of course, excited. Ever since he'd come to Paragon City, he'd felt like a puppy must feel: run at a thousand miles and hour, and keep running until you collapse unconscious. Sometimes he thought his head would explode with all the new things and people.

And now this! Some of the new ...
