A wonderful suggestion from Eric Copper, with prodding courtesy of Misericorde, has prompted this post.
We are attempting to refine our general rules for posting. Anyone who is new to our forums will do themselves a favor in obeying the following guidelines.
Open threads can be posted on by any member of the community, so long as the post makes some attempt to stay on topic. With certain exceptions (see below), all threads in our forums are by default "open."
Closed threads should only be posted on by the original poster (or the OP) or by moderators and the site admin, as necessary. If you have a specific concern or statement to make publicly, but for whatever reason you do not wish to open the topic for general discussion, please put (Closed) in the subject line of your post: for example, "Thoughts on Metagaming" would be by default open, while "Thoughts of Metagaming (Closed)" would be considered closed. You may also request the thread be locked by a moderator; such requests will be evaluated case-by-case.
SJS Narratives and SJS Interactive forums are the place where we let our members stretch their creative minds and put their creativity to words. As such, they are not normally open for discussion. Any thread in these forums is considered "closed" by default unless it it marked "open" specifically or you have already been invited to participate. These are the only forums which are not considered "open" by default.
Roleplaying Chat is a great place to make comments on a "closed" story or RP thread. Include the name of the story or RP thread in the subject line of your post, then go right ahead.
