This area is for the players of St. Joseph's to post their character fiction, explaining and exploring their character growth and interactions. These may be posted as complete, self-contained stories, as vignettes, or on-going chapters "in the life of" pieces. These may be written as solo or collaborative works.
Some minor rules:
- SJS fiction must conform to PG13 standards as some of our members are minors. If your story falls too far outside the boundaries of PG13, the Story Marshal may ask you to edit it.
PG13 - Parents Strongly Cautioned. Some material may be inappropriate for children under 13. Rough or persistent violence is absent; sexually-oriented nudity is generally absent; some scenes of drug use may be seen; very limited use of the harsher sexually derived words may be heard.
R - Restricted. Under 17 Requires Accompanying Parent or Adult Guardian: Contains a high level of adult content, such as harsh profanity, intense violence, explicit sexual content and extensive drug use. - Stories in this section are considered [ CLOSED ] by default. Do not post into somebody else's thread unless you are invited to do so. If you wish your story to be [ OPEN ], please mark it in the subject line.
- Stories may certainly be based on in-game roleplay sessions but they should not be transcripts unless re-written in story format.
- For stories that have no common thread (ie, one-off shorts), please post in the Interludes thread.
- Feel free to start a thread that is personal to yourself, and post all your character fiction in it that does not correspond to a particular storyline sequence.
- Some threads are specific to small groups instead of individual players (such as fiction that is open to anybody living in a certain quad, interacting within the quad). These threads are deemed [ OPEN ] to those who meet the thread criteria and [ CLOSED ] to everybody else. Please put an OOC note at the top of the first post as to who is permitted to post (ie; All Members of Quad Five or The Football Team).
- Do not use another person's character, even incidentally, without obtaining their permission first or running the draft of your document by them for approval. This is basic courtesy and if changes are requested, then it is your responsiblity to make them within the context of your story. NPCs are available to anybody but try to get a sense of their personality before writing them - as necessary contact the NPC creator or Continuity Wrangler if you're unsure.
