Sorry to hear about the closing of sjs, stumbled upon this after being gone for a long time and missing the SG. 4 years is a long time though and it was a hell of a ride.
My question is, with the coinciding release of Champions Online, has there been any discussions of starting anew with a similar theme in that game between any of the remaining sjs members?

To the best of my knowledge, most of our membership intends to stay in City of Heroes. There are no plans to start a SJS-like group in another game that I'm aware of.
