Well, the RWZ is 35+. All the other zones will be under attack, but unless you have a solid team, you WILL want to evacuate the zone if dropships come.

So for the first day, students will be under lock down on campus -- first in the cafeteria, then in the athletics building -- correct?
How does that play out in terms of in game RP? I don't see people skipping out on the first day of I10 play. Do we play it that we had our lock-down time immediately before the game content hits, so that when it starts up we're all just then getting out of lock-down? Or something else?
I'm more or less worried that I'll be like "oh, lock down ended four hours ago" and someone else will be like "what lock down?" while someone else will be like "hey! get back here on campus! we're supposed to be locked down". Okay, that may not actually happen, but I'm still confused anyway regarding which way it's supposed to go, and I'm probably making things more confusing by keeping on typing so I'll just stop and hope Mimi has an answer.

One other question about lockdown: what happens for those who weren't on campus when the lights started appearing in the sky? What if they were helping capture Council, for instance? (Or just out shopping, or whatever.) Are they going to get a call over the comm at any point to get back to campus NOW? And what if they miss it, or are unable to respond/return?
What happens if they still aren't back on campus when the instructors take a headcount?
This can, of course, be partially avoided by saying classes were in session when the invasion started, but some students could be ditching.

There will be no in-game lockdown. That's just silly. It already happened, using that wondrous and enigmatic wonky time.

I can't force anyone to be anywhere. Again, all I can do is ask. Now, of course, OOC, it's not possible for you to have been on patrol when it started-- the servers were down. Maybe people can use that as an excuse to have not been on patrol. Bright and early on a Tuesday morning and all that.
In terms of the headcount, if a student is roaming the city like an idiot during the first wave (and I heartily encourage brave students to go repel an assault on Atlas Park! Really, it'll be fun) then unless they're totally insane they're wearing their medivac badge, which is hooked up to the system. SJS won't like it, and will probably instruct that student to return to campus immediately, but at least with the medivac badge they'll know where the student is.

For anyone that needs this for their stories:
The first announcement of a raid came over the comms at 12:40pm EST. It was for Nerva. That invasion came and went (most of the students out and about thinking it was a drill or a joke).
Then 20 minutes later at 1:00pm EST, the comms crackled to life again, with multiple zones being invaded (all the zones that could be inveded were all invaded at once). That was the first "Oh my God" moment (at least in game). I know lots of people are trying to get the timing of their stories just right, so it looks like they chose lunchtime to strike.

I tried telling my manager that I needed to take the rest of the day off so I could get to the front lines, but he wouldn't listen.

Okay.
Some people are getting a little tired of some of the "extreme heroism" roleplay going on as far as the Rikti invasion is concerned.
Please, for your own sakes, do *not* roleplay that you've single-handedly felled dropships, or that you've started an underground railroad sneaking human-friendly Rikti traditionalists out of the RWZ, or that you've made surgical strikes inside the Rikti mothership.
I've said it before, I will say it again: be the hero of your OWN story. Do not try to be the hero of EVERYONE'S story. They do not like it.
Small victories are still victories. Do not aggrandize yourselves.

When will the school let students move back into the dorms?

By Friday night, everyone is back in the dorms. I'm writing up a slightly longer "what's going on" post

I've changed this post from an Announcement to a regular post, since it's mostly over and done with.

While the main invasion has died down, there are still occasional incursions/raids in the city zones.
I'm going to guess that the Rikti aren't avoiding whatever area the campus is in, so... What happens on campus when there's a raid? Does everybody head to the bunker? Does life go on as always? Do things go back to normal pretty quickly afterwards?
