Skipping into the common room singing to herself Alice sees all the many peoples there "Oooooooh Hiyas everyone!!"
A few wave and some nod hellos. The rain pounds and some thunder is heard for a brief moment. Looking around she sees Billy, Gabe and Bryan all huddled over some stuff on a table. "Wowzers Billy!! Where did you get all that cool stuff??"

"My guests? This is your party, man." Billy raised his metal hands in an attitude of surrender, getting deluged with questions from newcomers.
Nennya sauntered in, wearing a sundress, a pair of hiking boots, a set of flashy costume jewelry pieces--bangles, necklaces to the belly, clip-on earrings, and a tiara. She carried a blue velveteen bean-bag frog bigger than a human baby.
"There you are!" she said, pointing a white-gloved hand at Bryan, wrists twinkling like a billion acid stars. She tossed him a rusty-looking smoking jacket and a flat disk, thumped, and sat on his head, turned out to be a top hat. "Turn off the TV and kiss the frog."
Bryan killed the idiot box and shrugged into the coat. "Have the frog and I been formally introduced?" he asked, taking one dangling flipper.
"How can you say that about our baby! Introduced indeed! This is Plantagenet, and you and I are Lord and Lady Fluffernutter, and we're going to have some tea."
"Fluffernutter?" Bryan muttered out the side of his mouth, dutifully kissing the frog on its flat head.
"It's free food," said Nennya, giggling. "We might as well earn it with a little make-believe. Hold baby Plantagenet, Lord Fluffernutter, while I greet Duchess Lunar Extreme," she said, very audibly, and turned to Alice. "Duchess Extreme! So loooooooouvvvely to see you, dahling, it has been too long!" Nennya grabbed Alice's hand and used it to pull off an unsteady curtsy. "Do say you'll be having tea with us today. Perhaps with Duke Willing Surgery will be joining us, after you dress for company?"
Nennya gave a startling and very convincing imitation of one of her brother's sniffs, an inhalation of air that expressed volumes of disdain for another's current personal attire. Alice giggled unsteadily.
"Um, yes yes, Lady Fluffythingy, I'll be happy to have tea, right after I change." Alice giggled again, and flittered out.
"Awesome," said Nennya. Billy was looking at her with an expression of uneasiness and amusement. "Prince Shocking!" she said, giving her deepest curtsy yet, looking at Billy. "Our family is honored to be your guest today. Oooh, sardines!" Nennya started arranging food on plates, and did the favor of plugging in the hotplate as Aeon and Gabe seemed to be having a hard time figuring out why the teapot was still cold.
Billy turned his face away. Nennya thought maybe he was angry... but no. Billy McGuffin was laughing his ass off, and trying not to let anyone see.

Joni became aware of voices. A lot of voices. She checked her watch; seems she'd been asleep for a couple hours now. Still raining outside, though.
She poked her head up over the back of the couch; some other students were on the sofa in front of the TV, and still more were gathered around with... tea?

"Oh! I totally forgot!" Aeon was a gray blur out of the room again. First she'd forgotten the electric kettle, and then the cage for the loose tea. It was a miracle she had both shoes.
She charged down the hallway toward the cafeteria, punching down the crinoline of her dress as it kicked up again, a flurry of gray taffeta and tiny embroidered strawberries. The slick soles of her patent leather Mary Janes skittered across the old dusty tile as she rounded the corner.
"There'd better be a fire, Miss Quisling...!" intoned one of the nuns as the girl blew by, putting a hand to her wimple as if to hold it on.
Aeon collected herself and "wiggled" her way through the rear kitchen door and stole to the refrigerator. She couldn't forget the most important part. And one quick detour back to her quad, still all aflutter. When she had ever been this excited before, she couldn't recall. It was inane, but she was loath to destroy her mood by over-thinking it.
With a whoosh she was in the common room again, now topped with a voluminous hat with a peacock feather and crepe veil. Gabe looked up expectantly, arching an eye brow at the girl, dressed for perhaps a gaudy funeral, who was now handing him a cucumber.
"Wha...?"
"And of course..." She deposited a small jar of mayonnaise on the table, followed by a kitchen knife. Wheras Aeon was generally predictable and far from strange, it seemed as though she had finally lost her grip on her personality.
"Oh, and bread." She produced a loaf of white bread in a plastic bag adorned with balloons done in primaries.
"Sandwiches. Of course." Gabe sighed internally.

Alice ran back to her room and changed into her brightest pink and purple dress and put on her gold chains over her neck and arms and tied her ponytail into giant top knot and adorned it with many glittering ribbons.
Giggling to herself she ran back to the common room almost tripping on her dress while trying not to bang her head on the lights. Once there she walked gracefully to the group and curtsied to Nennya adding her her smoothest voice "Do I meet your Lady Fluffynutbarsness approval now?"

Pausing to listen to the commotion just up ahead, Ves was startled by the sudden flash of color whisking past her. “Was that Violet? Wearin’ feathers?” She slipped into the common room quietly, surveying the scene laid out before her with a mixture of curiosity and incredulity.
Gabe in a suit? Bryan in a top hat? “My god, look at that hat! That IS a feather! And… what the hell is Nennya wearing?” she thought.
Before Ves could find her voice, she watched Alice enter with a flourish and a graciousness that only further punctuated the absurdity. As the whimsical humor hit her, Ves erupted in laughter before announcing “I think I’m really underdressed, here. You guys have room for one more?”

Joni finally dares speak up. "Okay, umm, I think I missed something important? What's going on?"

Turns her head and smiles at Joni giggling "I have no idea!! Isn't it great!?"
She curties to Joni then to Billy who promptly rolls his eyes and to everyone else in turn. Finding she is out of people ti bow to she begins to fawn over the stuff Billy was unpacking.

Gabe walked back in, balancing a pair of large silver tea services, it was almost deliciously easy, given how conductive silver was, to simply suspend them mid-air over his right hand.
He coughed lightly, "Ladies, Gentlemen, tea... is served."
God he felt ridiculous
