A loud crash , several booms , tons of noise , and some panic thrown in.
"wow , I'm home...." Kali thinks to herself with a smile. The backpack thrown over her shoulder is suddenly dropped and she runs to where everyone is gathering.
Making her way through the crowd of students , Kali watches as Biff carries a young girl out.
Struggling to get past the others she makes her way to Biffs side.
" Biff what happened? Is she ok? " Kali asks as she absent mindedly reaches for the girls hand letting the healing forces within her travel through to the girl.
" is there anyone else inside? c'mon Biff answer !!!" Kali is half yelling now as poor Biff stands dumbfoundly still trying to figure out whos yelling at Him.

by Voltaic Em
Em roused slightly as someone half carried, half dragged her out of the building. Her vision was hazy, she couldn't make out the face. A throbbing pain in her leg kept her mind too distracted to think.

She felt like she was burning from the inside out. Her lungs screamed for fresh air, her nerves were like lightning bolts, and her blood felt like liquid fire.

Something...ugh...

...wrong...

She coughed, and tasted blood.

"Hospital..." she croaked, unable to muster enough energy to say anything more.

It was a struggle, but she managed to lift one hand long enough to activate the MedBadge. Her body shimmered momentarily, and disappeared.

((Will continue this on another thread. Don't want to clutter up Jayna's intro any further. Thanks for the rescue guys and gals))

Watching Em's figure shimmer and fade, Oby turns his head to find out who's yelling, and sees Kali standing, yelling at Biff.

"Everyone's out, Kali. Can you see what you can do for the girl that Biff rescued? I don't think she has a med badge on."

by Jayna
Warmth. Softness. The cloudy slow thoughts of receding dreams.

Jayna’s eyes slowly opened to the sight of the nurses’ office. She slowly rolled over sleepily taking in the scene of the other empty recovery beds of the quant little office.

“Mmmmm,” Jayna moans, still half asleep and very content to just lay in the comfortable bed. I wonder how I got here… she thinks to herself, I guess it’s not important enough to interrupt a goo…

Sudden memories of the attack and explosion, of the big guy and that girl coming to her rescue interrupt Jayna’s train of thought and make her bolt up in her bed looking around for any signs of what had happened.

“Whoa calm down there Jayna, you’re safe now,” the voice of Agent Stanton, always soothing and strong, but even more so now, washed over her. “Everything’s fine now, the attackers were beaten back, there’s nothing to worry about. There’s nothing here to threaten you.”

“Huh? Threaten me? Why do you think I was threatened?” Jayna asked, still foggy eyed with sleep.

“Just a hunch I guess,” the Agent responds, making a small gesture towards the sheets still over Jayna, now glowing slightly with the energy contained in her hands.

“Oh… But what happened? Where are the others that helped me?” Jayna fired off, voice becoming small as she looked away and continued, “and how much did I destroy this time? And did I kill anyone this time…”

“No Jayna, at least not anyone who wasn’t trying to get you. As usual the Hunters disappeared shortly after losing consciousness, so we don’t know how many of them survived, and while the damage to the school is pretty severe, that was the chemistry lab that your explosion tore through, “ the Agent explained.

“But what about the others?” she interrupted impatiently.

“I was just getting to them,” he said, puzzled by Jayna’s insistence on finding out what happened to the other students. This wasn’t the first time Jayna’s powers had blown something up, yet it was the first time she was so insistent to know the condition of those who had been caught close to the blast. “Biff Hannigan, he was the rather large gentlemen who first charged the Hunters, is totally fine. Not a single scratch or bruise on him. The girl is another matter.” Seeing her concern at this point, and filing it away for future consideration he continued. “It’s nothing really to worry about, she’s over at Chiron Medical Center getting looked after now, and she should be fine in a few days. Oh, and her name is Emily Parker if you were wondering.”

“I want to go visit her now! I need to make sure she’s all right.” Jayna insisted while starting to get out of bed.

“No, there’s no visitors for Miss Parker right now, and that doesn’t even matter since you will rest here for the night. And that’s not an option Jayna.” He said sternly, the voice of command clearly recognizable.

Knowing that there was no arguing with Stanton when he got that way Jayna said defiantly “Fine, but as soon as visiting hours are open I’m going to see her.”

“Why does it matter so much?” He asked quietly, “do you even think it’s likely you can form a friendship with her? Do you even think that the school will have you after this incident?” Agent Stanton’s eyes pierced her as his words sunk in.

He was right She thought, expression turning to fear at the realization of what had happened. But her expression hardened into resolve quickly. That doesn’t matter, I still have to say thank you and I’m sorry to her.

“That doesn’t matter. I still need to thank her. She and Biff saved me,” In more ways than they’ll ever know. She added to herself. “And Voltaic Em got hurt because of me, so I owe her this.”

Seeing the change and hearing Jayna’s words Stanton’s own face softened. “I’m glad you see it that way. In fact the Headmaster has already talked to me about your enrollment here and he’s insisted that you stay at Saint Joseph’s. So you better make yourself some friends here, and maybe look into becoming a Hero of Paragon Jayna.”

Her smile was expansive, pure joy as her future opened up before her.

Friends! And a place to call home!
