Kali lays silent and unmoving .
In her mind shes sitting between the lions stone paws. Her feet dangle over the edge of the bridge , but instead of the water of the red river flowing beneath her all she can see is a dry riverbed and dead grass. As she looks up to see the Lions stone face all she sees is a crumbled statue.
"Kali? Kali you ok?" she hears D's words.
Still unable to move much , she musters the strength to force the words out...
" Find Oby "
Her body is totally drained of energy. Her long dark hair is tangled into the fabric of her tattered school blazer. There are several burns along her body.
Nothing that cant be fixed in the infirmary with time.
Her mind returns to the safety of the lion once more.
He has always been her retreat when things have gone wrong.
Her body curls rigidly into the fetal position and she waits for the energy to build.
" only a few more minutes . just a few....." Kali is speaking barely above a whisper.
The other kids who have risen are starting to filter over , she doesnt realize they are there . She has locked herself in her safe spot in her mind. But the energy isnt returning as it should.
Again she hears the words , this time shes not sure who is speaking "Kali you ok? "
And again the same answer is whispered " find Oby"

Kali lays still blocking the pain from her mind.
The reality of what has just took place now sinking in.
Zia... Kali tries to raise her head and look for her but her eyes are still blinded from the bright flash of light.
Voices around her... shes not sure who , they all sort of blend together in a collage of sounds.
Still unable to speak much the words come slowly from her dry parched mouth.
" Zia... "
The radiation Zia has blasted Kali with has burned her badly in places. if it hadnt been for the shields she raised it would have been much worse . Luckily her natural shields were strong enough to hold back most of the blast. She is still hurt , still going to need time to heal.
Again the collage of voices, she can make out her name being said by many , other then that shes not sure what is being said.
" find Oby..... " her thoughts all go back to the one she knows can get her someplace safe.
"wheres Zia..." are the final words as she lays her head back down , still drained of her energy and barely concious.

Oby shoulders his backpack, and shuts his locker just in time to hear, "Oby, hurry up and come with me!"
He turns to see D, and his eyes narrow a bit, till he sees D's frantic manner, and starts to move quickly with Detective through the hallways, barely able to keep up without his superspeed "What the hell is goin' on, D?" Some of the football practice helps as Oby darts and dodges between people in an effort to keep up.
As D starts to slow, Oby sees a group of people huddled around an area. D roughly shoves his way through with Oby following, and looks back at him, with a look that Oby though might be contemptuous. "Jubilation did something to her. She asked for you." Oby was taken back by the tone of D's voice, but all that washed aside when he saw what people were looking at.
Kali lay on the ground breathing in short gasps. Her skin looked as though she had a bad sunburn, and she was struggling to keep her head off the ground. Oby tossed his bag aside and dropped to her side, trying to comfort her, but not sure where to touch her. So much of her was an angry red, what did this?
"Where's Zia..." He heard her mutter, and he had his answers.
That would have to wait, right now, Kali's condition mattered more. Doing the only thing he could think of, and hoping the Sister's would understand him using his powers on campus, and forgive the breach of policy, he reached out to find that spark that was Lightfall, and pulled. A ringing, tearing sound filled the air, and shadows parted. Lightfall landed in a tumble sprawling on the ground. "What the..." Irritation turned to a smile and little laugh when she saw Oby "Oby, I was sitting down to eat, you could've just come over, silly..." When she saw his demeanor, she paused.
"Kali needs help, Light." Oby was at a loss to what to do, and looked to the red haired girl. "I can't touch her, she's burned. Can you heal her? At least enough so we can get her to Doc Syl?"
Lightfall looked down to see Kali, and with a small cry fell to her side, stroking her hair gently. "It's okay, Kali, shhhh." A green glow steadily emanated from Lightfall, soothing calm radiated to Kali, who seemed to relax some. Lightfall's eyes then lit up, as did Kali's. The dark haired girl let out a sigh, eyes closed. "I made her go to sleep, Oby. Get her to Doc Syl now." Lightfall had Kali's hand in hers and brought it to her lips, kissing it gently.
Oby scooped Kali up carefully, and could see that Lightfall's healing had helped. Already the angry red seemed like it was fading, becoming more tan. He looked back at the crowd, and the gap that D had created. Just like he was following a block from Glacial Mass, he took off through the hole, hitting top speed in just a few strides, on his way to the infirmary.

Lightfall has eased Kali's pain . Her healing touch soothing the worst of the burns. Her thoughts giving Kali sleep that is needed to let her body recoup.
Oby picks Kali up and heads at top speed to the infirmary and Doc Syl.
As He explains to Doc what little He knows She proceeds to get Kali prepped for an examination to determine how badly the girls been hurt and whats needed to repair the damage done.
" Tell me again what happened , Slowly this time. And what was done before she was brought here please. I need as many details as you can give me before I can treat her." The Doctor asks.
