Is the campus located within Paragon City, or is it nearby but outside city limits? If it's in the city, is it in a defined zone, or is that left unspecified? I'm pretty sure I'd read somewhere that you don't want to specify that the campus is this or that specific building, but I'm not sure if that meant that the location is completely undefined or if it's somewhat but not precisely defined.

I think it's been pretty unspecified. Safe to say we're somewhere inside the city itself... people have mentioned going across the street to eat lunch at City of Gyros, or wandering down to the Yellow Line and such. But as to what city zone, or whatever, I'd almost prefer to keep that vague.

There seem to be plenty of areas in the city that are outside othe the walled zones. Maybe the school resides in one of those areas? A place with a name like Baumton Heights, or Norwick, or something like that.

Could you clarify powers-based education at St. Joes? Some things I know:

- There are some classes at St. Joes for powers. I read earlier in this thread that things like superspeed and flying would probably be handled by the physical education department.

- Students learn new powers while they are at St. Joes. The in-game mechanics for this are gaining levels and choosing powers.

Some things I don't know:

- Are powers-based classes mandatory for all students? Are they fully optional? Or are they required when a student poses a danger to everyone else, and optional otherwise?

- Does St. Joe's offer powers-based education for all types of powers, or only some of them? I have to wonder how willingly the nuns would allow instruction in things like the dark miasma and related power sets.

- Is there a standard explanation for how we learn new powers? This might be a redundant question depending on the above answers. If students are required to take powers-based classes, then that's the obvious answer. But if we don't have classes for all powers, then things get a bit messier. Perhaps MAGI, SERAPH, etc. also do some powers-based education and training?

- How well monitored are students regarding their powers and their abilities with those powers? If a student has poor control over a power, or learns a new power and can't control it, is the school there watching over them to catch it? Or are things loose enough that problems may quite happily ensue?

I remember a little thread that gives a lil insight into what the school is about. Its called From the School Paper(something to think about) I dunno if it answers all of your questions but its a cool piece of work that relates to the topic.

Sorry this is out of the current topic but, Mimi? Could I have a seeing eye dog? Trying to get around campus with my cane is far more problematic than I ever thought!

There of course is nothing wrong with you having a seeing-eye dog.

On that topic: if you are going to put the seeing-eye dog in any fiction, PLEASE do us all the favor of learning something about care animals. You decide it'd be real funny for the seeing-eye dog to chase a squirrel and drag Violin across the quad, you have done a "bad thing". Care animals spend quite a long time being trained.

Since attendence i have noticed IC and OOC that it is really really hard to pull of a teacher position.

Alot of discution i overhear talks about the ahoritive figure of a teacher in the sg. IC its complicated. OOC the UC and SC have athority. As for a teacher figure its compelatly IC. So what Ahority OFF and ON campus do techers have?

alot of argument stems from the fact that a student is not on campus therefor they do not have to listen to there teachers. Is it only that teachers can offer moral advice or at some point are they held up to quelling arguments, solving simple task's?

i dont know if this has been asked yet but i currently dont have an answer or an understanding to the issue.

Related to this, what's the policy on having a teacher character? Can anyone create one and join the SG?

Personally, I think that a teacher character should only be admitted to the SG by a SC member, and then perhaps only after the SC has discussed it as a group. I also think that teacher characters should only be created by persons who already have a well-established student character in the SG.

In any case, I think something should be added to the main website about teacher characters. Right now, most/all the guidelines target student characters.
