Teachers as PCs

From this point forward, PC faculty will be handled in the following fashion.

1. PC Faculty and Staff have proved problematic in the past.

2. The focus of SJS should remain on the kids, not on the school as a complete institution.

3. Players new to SJS are not permitted to play faculty or staff.

4. Experienced, trusted players who hold a character at Upperclassman rank or above may petition the Student Council to make a faculty or staff PC at Office Hours. Each application will be handled case-by-case.

5. All approved faculty or staff PCs are expected to contribute positively to the atmosphere of SJS. Traditional student/teacher relationships should be downplayed on the chat channels, while emphasized in local roleplay.

6. Faculty PCs do not exist to discipline students. The model should be taken from the X-Men movies, where super-powered staff accompany students on dangerous missions because they believe it is the right thing to do, and they acknowledge that the students feel the same way.

7. All approved faculty PCs should be considered as roleplay alts. The status of any faculty PC is open for discussion at office hours. If an approved faculty PC acts outside these boundaries, the player may be asked to abandon the faculty PC.
