Saint Joseph School

Io Nodachi was born Sythen Deromete around 16 years ago. He was born into a large family that was split into three branches hundreds of years ago. The Deromete branch served as protector of the other branches, though the importance of this has faded in the current years. The other branches were magic users, but each branch specialized in a different thing. The Tempest branch specialized in shadows, while the Highmoonwinds branch specialized in plants.

At the age of 10 Sythen was chosen to protect Sand Tempest. He spent the next six years training to protect and following Sand around. About a month ago Sand became obsessed with trying to create a shadow creature. Every attempt by Sand failed, but he was determined to create a creature. Sand failed horrible at an attempt to create the shadow creature. The failed attempt nearly killed him, and Sythen was given a unrefined version of the Tempest legacy. This caused tension with the Tempest branch. Eventually they forbid Sythen from serving the Tempest family.

Over the next couple of weeks the magic bound to Sythen started to get out of his control. This caused the Deromete branch to get worried, but the Tempest branch grew even more angry because he shouldn't even have had to learn how to use their magic. The family decided to make Sythen leave and get better help, because the Tempest branch would have nothing to do with him and no one else in the family could help. So Sythen left the family and changed his name to Io Nodachi to signify his new start away from the families.

Io has been doing well in the few months he has been at Saint Joe's. He hasn't made any outstanding friendships, but also hasn't done anything to make enemies of a lot of people either. The recent holidays made Io realize that he won't see his family for at least several years. He has decided to move on the best he can and make friends throughout the school. He spends his free time during the day looking for anything on the Tempest family shadow magic. He hasn't found much on the Tempest family style but he has found some interesting discoveries while researching, he can now grow wings with a lot of unnerving effort ( he hardly does it anymore but he still can ). While he is on patrol with other students he usually spends a lot of time trying to protect them, but can't really protect them all the time when he is really only good at fighting people not talking a bullet for someone else.He joined the CVC after it was reinstated to protect the people who were joining or already there.
