Stone clung to an out cropping of rock as he watched hordes of DE stream toward the hive. He wasn't sure what was going on yet but he had tracked his 3rd self here. Finding his missing belongings strewn down the mountain side he picked up a few things that mattered to him most, some letters from kali and the ring from erica.
He pulled himeself up, lying flat on the shelf like out cropping over looking the entrance to 'the hive'. He stared at the war walls as large groups of black clouds repeatedly hit the war wall over the entrance. He had never seen swarms so aggresive but he knew they felt the call as well. As if watching lent them power the swarms rallied again crashing into the shield. this time it seemed to fluctuate blinking out for a second, and then he saw it, the explosion.
Stone stared in shock as the section of the war wall lost power and huge quarry's began to stream through. He had to warn someone. Founder's had to be evacuated. He tried to stand and a sudden force kept him down. He looked up hearing a small giggle.
A small boot was plantend in the center of his back, stone looked up as the woman whom the boot belonged smiled down to him.

The girl looked out at the expanse of greenery before her and couldn’t help but admire the beauty of it. Even the grey ruins thrusting up from the dense foliage did nothing to diminish the aesthetic appeal. Not in her eyes anyway. Perhaps they reminded her of home.
Scanning more thoroughly, the young mutant took stock of the residents of this curious mixture of nature and artifice. Perhaps it was fitting that they too, represented both nature and civilization, though only the most twisted and destructive representatives of each.
Though a stranger to this place, at least as it was now, she had always taken pride in her ability to navigate even the most dangerous sectors of Paragon City. There was nothing she couldn’t find, and no one she didn’t know. There was no place in her city, she had boasted, where she could not go.
Tonight, she would prove it.
Woodvale, it had once been called. Before the war. Before the Devouring Earth. Now it had a different name. Now, they called it Eden. It was a paradise, and it was hell. According to the bible, mankind had been cast out from Eden. Now, this night, an Outcast would return.
“This isn’t the smartest thing I’ve ever done,” Erika muttered to herself, “but I’ve looked everywhere else.” Brushing a tear from her eye, not the first that had fallen that night, she reached into her soul and brought forth the fire that was her gift and was her burden. “I can’t live without you, Tony. Whatever is happening to you, I won’t let you face it alone.”
With a determination fueled by both desire and despair, Erika leapt from her perch on the War Wall above the Founder’s gate. At the same time, she unleashed a furious burst of fiery energy, sending her soaring into the air and across the overgrown ruins of Eden. Even in her agitated state, she couldn’t help but feel exhilarated as the ground fell away and she hurtled through the sky with wild abandon. It was as close as she’d ever come to flying, she thought, but more powerful and intense she was sure.
Many seconds later, she landed on a broken rooftop a thousand yards from the gate. Even before the dust settled, she was in the air again, arcing towards yet another ruin. Swiftly she crossed the zone in this manner, leaping from building to building, avoiding the dangerous creatures and armed men who patrolled the ground. There were still tears in her eyes, but at least some portion of them were tears of joy, as she exulted in her speed and power.
The joy ended, however, when she came to a place where there were no more buildings. No more works of man. Instead, a giant spire rose into the sky, taller than the towers of Steel Canyon. Some construct of the Devouring Earth, she surmised. Erika froze momentarily, not sure how to proceed.
“Oh, screw it!” she screamed, and launched herself once more into the air. Spying what appeared to be a small lake on the spire’s north side, she shifted her momentum to aim for it. Soon, she landed at the base of a small waterfall, and was stunned speechless by the idyllic unspoiled beauty that suddenly surrounded her. Shaking off a sudden memory of another night, another pool, she looked to the west. She was almost there, she realized. She could see the War Wall on the far side of Eden. The wall that surrounded the Hive.
The wall that suddenly exploded before her eyes…

"Passion?" Stone managed as he stared up at his dead friend twice over. "No it's Mimi in disguise." she replied, letting out a soft giggle as he stared at her as if looking for a mask. "wh...umm...how...You're dead!" stone blurted out. Passion moved over slightly allowing him to get up. Fingering his ring he stared at her still in shock awaiting an explaination.
"The good thing about being a clone is that you can't really die. Think back a bit to when we both came to the hive, they didn't kill us even after we were defeated. I was taken to a spore colony. They used me, or actually my genetics to improve their natural healing abilities, i made their eminators stronger and improved all of the fungi as a whole." Stone could only nod as she continued.
"After their sucsess with me they tried reproducing me, managing to remove everything but my animal instinct. After a while though we started to fail, some of us remembered who we were. Many lost their minds and sought to destroy mankind others fought to be free." Stoned remembered his last encounter with passion. She had been violent wanting him to rule beside her. He had finally had to put her down having no other choice.
"What about you? How did you get out?"
Passion sighed as she looked down, pushing the dirt around with her foot. "I stayed and remained in their service. Over time my Empathy became stronger and it allowed me to escape. I fled to croatoa as far away as i could but i still heard their calls to me, I felt like i needed to come back here and i'm glad i did." Passion smiled at him in that way she did before all of this. Stone caught himself as he was about to embrace her, they were still in hostile territory and things needed to be done.

Matt could hardly believe what he was told as he blinked across the city scape towards his desination. 'This is big, Synapse never has yelled at me to just get here, now!'
Matt barely had anytime to switch out of his uniform into his hero persona outfit. Observing the roadway below, Matt saw a all too familiar streak and blinked down further below to make sure he was correct.
"Glad you could make it kid, time to really see if what I've taught you has sunk in!" The streak yelled as it zigged and zagged through traffic.
"What's the situation Synapse!?" Matt yelled as he tried to keep pace with the speedster.
"Big kid, really big!" Synapse yelled as he blurred through the war wall entrance to Founders Falls.
Materializing on the other side of the entrance to Founders Falls Matt need to explaination what was the call for the emergency, he could see it clearly in the sky. One of the war walls had been breached and an odd black cloud loomed near it. Matt had never seen whatever this thing was, though it was obvious it was not something friendly, panic had flooded the streets of Founders Falls. An area of town not even fully known about by Matt. All he knew was that he had a job to do.
Blinking towards the breach, Matt found Synapse already down below knocking around the most bizarre looking of creatures. They looked like sentient pieces of nature, walking trees and rocks. "Kid, consider this your final lesson. Save the people and get them the hell away from here now!"
Matt nodded bravely and headed towards the neighborhoods closest to the breach. Along the way he saw many other heroes of all sorts fighting these bizarre nature creatures. Materialzing a few blocks away from the damaged war wall, Matt witnessed mass carnage. The nearby buildings had recieved structural damage from the initial explosion, and some had even caught fire. 'Final test? What does he mean?'
A scream brought Matt out of his thoughts as he turned to one of the burning buildings, 'No time to think!'
Blinking past the fire engulfing the window, Matt materialized into a room in utter chaos, fire had easily spread across the whole of the living room and much of the entranceway out into the hallway was blocked by burning debris. Listening carefully over the crackling, Matt could make out the sniffling and coughs for air coming from a room off of the living room. Dodging fire, Matt entered a room and saw a young woman holding her baby in the corner. Matt quickly rushed to her side and grabbed onto her shoulders, "Maam its gonna be alright! I'm gonna get you out of here!"
Matt cleared his head and took a breath. A flash of light and the young woman and child were outside with him away from the now blazing building. "Maam, head off towards the main exit tunnel to Talos, emergency crews are setting up there!"
The woman gave a firm nod and ran off down the street, Matt let a small smile crack across his lips as he patted himself on the back for saving that woman. And then suddenly he was flying through the air and smashed into brick wall of the opposite burning building. Turning to see what smacked him like a ragdoll, Matt opened his eyes to see what appeared to be a large slab of rock shaped like a humanoid glaring down on him. Left in a state of shock and awe, Matt watched in horror as it raised its arms up into the air and brought them together to slam down onto him.

As the stone creature was about to swing its massive arms down upon Matt, it suddenly gave a guttoral sound from deep withen it and in an instant exploded into a rain of debris.
Quickly shielding himself from rocks and pebbles, Matt looked around as an arm was thrust through the smoke. "You must be Synapses kid. Come on, no time for laying around."
Matt grabbed the arm and stared at a figure entirely in crimson and holding a bow. Matt found himself for a second distracted by the weird headpiece that this man wore, "Thanks-Look out!"
Matt quickly blinked behind the figure and flared forth a brilliant blast of light into what looked like a giant walking mushroom that had snuck up on the two heroes. There wasn't much left after the energy disappated.
"Guess Synapse was right, you are cut out for this. Names Manticore kid, love to stay and chat but I've got work to do." The figure said as he ran off down the street.
'Manticore? Then Synapse is right, this is big if the rest of the Freedom Phalanx was called in.' Matt thought as he 'ported up onto a building to get a better look of things.
Most people now were well on their way to safety. A large humanoid with an emerald head, and a woman clad in a skimpy green outfit were helping the throng of people make their way down towards the Talos highway.
Over in the distance Matt could make out where most of the action now was. Dozens of these creatures were shambling around near the hole in the war wall, making what looked like a fortification and amid this construction Matt could see there were people being herded back into whatever section these creatures had broken out of.
"Kid! Ya read me?" A voice crackled over the comm.
"Synapse?" Matt asked puzzled a bit as he looked at his school's comm.
"Who else kid, get over to that breach. Big red down there is taking quite a bit of flak and certainly could use your help. Trust me, this is your time to shine and show what your made of!" Synapse stated as a crackle of electricity was heard over the comm.
"On it!" Matt blurted out as he began hoping across the war torn sky towards the looming battlefield.
Matt couldn't help but wonder just who this Big red was as he came closer and close to the chaos up ahead.

'Porting into the middle of a group of the creatures erupting in a large blast of light. The creatures flew back and crashed into the nearby surroundings, leaving Matt to continue on his way to the main battle ground. Along his path he made sure to stop any of the creatures who now seemed to be retreating to the breach.
Rematerializing on a nearby roof, Matt got a good look at this big red. Tossing and smashing the creatures as if they were mere pebbles, the man easily had the strength and endurance of a god. His outfit was patriotic to the bone, having red and blue colors dominant with little white stars along it. His face however was hidden with a metal helmet, giving him a sort of Greek warrior look from long days past.
No matter how many creatures shambled towards him, he held his ground but gained none either as he helplessly watched citizens being herded through the hole in the war wall. Matt quickly 'ported down beside him and started to join into the fray. 'Big Red' paid little notice to his additional help but made no signs he didn't want it either. The two worked seemlessly, Big Red would toss a creature at one charging at Matt, while Matt blasted another creatures jumping down hoping to catch Big Red in his blind spot.
"Look kid, we could do this all day but those citizens don't have all day. I'll keep them at bay here, you get in there and save those citizens. The Devouring Earth can't be allowed to do whatever plans they have with them." Big Red boomed during the carnage.
Matt looked up hesistantly and now understood what Synapse had said earlier. This was his time to shine, his moment to show he could be relied on and be more then just some teen with powers.
"I'm on it!" Was all that remained as Matt disappeared in a flash.
Statesman let a small smile crack his grim visage, "I just hope you do well kid..."
