Jack sits down behind Kali and gently messages her shoulder with his good arm.

"That was pretty amazing babe, everyone else has some cool dance steps but you got the whole gym wound up! There is going to be a spot on the Chear Squad for you for sure... if not i will talk some sense into Fran."

Jack winked at the last bit and wraped his arm around Kali to give her a hug.

"Good job."

Francis stood up trying not to knock her knees into the card table and undo Cricket's careful computer set-up. Instead, she just ended up passing an elbow through Lycia's ear.

She glanced down at the odd look slime on her arm and shrugged.

"Alright guys, listen up."

She waited for the gym to quiet enough she wouldn't have to scream. A stray teenager bounced past her and grabbed onto the rim of the basketball hoop, trying to keep quiet for a moment.

"That looks like it, I'm going to tally a few things up and I'll post the new cheerleaders list shortly. Thanks to all who tried out. See you guys in minute...oh and Eric? De-caf ok?"

The cheerleader uniform clad goth girl picked up her pencils headed for the gym office.

It seemed like an eternity before the unmistakable pink mop reappreared on the opposite side of the gym.

"Alright." She spoke up. "We've got some changes and we've got some additions. I'm posting the complete SJS Cheer Squad List on the gym bulletin board. Please do not all rush down and clobber me until I have had enough time to run for it. Thanks all for trying out...you guys are better than I thought. For those of you who are on the squad, we'll be getting together soon to discuss out next event. Cheers."

With a wry smile the cheer clad goth walked calmly to the board amidst whispers and excited glances. She took out a tack, carefully placed the paper on the board, pushed in the pin...and ran for it, her new sneakers squeaking madly down the hall.

CONGRATULATIONS SJS CHEERSQUAD!!

Eric bounces REALLY excitedly all over the gym.

"I made cheer squad!!! I made cheer squad!!!"

He then collides into Alex and gives him a huge kiss and hug. "Can you believe it, Alex? I made cheer squad!!!"

Then he's off in the air again, zipping all over the place in excitement... speedboosting everything that's moving more slowly than he is.

"Hey, Stasis! Way to go!"

The blonde girl blinked and waved back in easy confusion, dodging a pair of speeders on her way to her locker.

"Yeah! Go, me!" She hollered at the retreating back. "What I do this time?"

The answer floated back on cherubim wings. "Cheer squad, second time running! You rock!"

Stasis blanched. No way. No freaking way. Franky could not do this to her, not again. She'd been emphatic, f'sure, had never even taken her cheer uniform out of its silly little plastic wrap! She'd never attended even a single practice, had told everybody who'd listen how she wasn't on the cheer squad, no way, no how, not in this lifetime, sister....

She just stood there in the middle of the hallway.

"Oh... man!"

Joni blinks as Eric tears past her -- she wasn't even aware there was a cheerleading squad at SJS (it seemed a little un-Catholic somehow, not that she knew Catholicism from Mormonism). The momentary image of Eric in a cheerleading skirt enters her brain, and she stiffles a giggle.

By the time she thinks to congratulate him, he's out of sight and probably halfway across campus, so she merely turns and continues on her way... and nearly breaks her nose slamming into the end of the hall. Like 99% of the student body, Joni easily qualified as "moving more slowly than Eric." She steps more gingerly the rest of the way to the dorms.

Roxy slowly approached the pin board and began reading the list. She saw Crickets name and smiled and continued on reading till she saw her own name and she let out a really cheerful 'Yea!' Totally forgetting the crowd around her.

Immediately she spun around on her heels and tackled hugged Saskia. "Look! Saskia! Look! I'm a cheerleader! Now I can come watch your games all the time! And um... I get those pom pom thingies... And um... Other stuff!"

It was absolutely bizarre to see the normal introverted shy girl suddenly become a flurry of incoherant sentences and excitment.

"I did good, right?" Roxy asked more to herself then Saskia as she thought about what just happened.

Bailey stopped to sniff at Violin's locker door as the two made their way out of English class. She stopped and reached out to feel for the familiar cold metal of her combination lock as the shouts began to emanate out of the gym doors.

"Go Flyers"

"Omigod I can't believe you gotinthatiscoolIcan'tevenbreatherightnow."

"Eric! Over here! Speedboost me again!"

"LOOK OUT! *crash* *bang* *clink clink*"

Amy tilted her head, trying to get a better angle on the sound. Sure sounded like a riot was breaking out. Somewhere next to her a voice that sounded a lot like Stasis grumbled, "Oh...man!"

As her dark haired friend charges up, Stasi is still standing in the middle of the hall, contemplating the deep anger the universe obviously holds towards her. It's punishment, she decides. If she hadn't offered to help Misericorde, if friendship had not raised its ugly, pockmarked face and swayed her into communal spirit, none of this would be happening. It felt like a nightmare, only with ribbons and those little girly boots with the applique stitching that would probably disintegrate as soon as they got within fifteen yards of the Paragon City Sewers, let alone into the mess itself.

Kali Jade, eternal bubblehead, doesn't seem to mind that the girly boots she'll have to wear will disintegrate the first time she tries to actually DO anything in them. Kali Jade probably thinks this is the Best Thing Ever and seems convinced that Stasi ought to feel the same way. She clutches her friend's pale fingers and jumps up and down with excitement.

"Stas! WE MADE IT!"

Stasis blinks, jolted out of her dark and sombre reverie. Visions of pink doom are chased away by the effevescent squeal and she grins back automatically.

"Um... yeah. Yeah! Go, us.. like, totally. We rock?"

"Staaaaasi! This is SO GREAT! Isn't this so great? Yeah!"

Obviously more effort was needed. Kali needed support! The pock marked monster of friendship had to be soothed into submission! Stasis sighed and gripped her friend's hand.

"You know it, girlfriend! Flyers Forever! Woot!"

She could always dodge practice like she did last time. No big deal. Kali's shining face was pretty awesome to look at anyways and Happy Kali meant Happy Jack which meant that maybe the locker-shoving incidents would be at an all time low this week.

Barrier grinned. "Course you did, Rox!" The green girl put a rough arm around Roxy's slim shoulders. "Now the boys are going to be chasing you ragged!"

"Not this boy," Tollivers syrupy smirk was evident in his voice. "I got it on good authority that Siren got dropped off this afternoon."

Roxy blinked. "Siren?"

Barrier nodded, rolling her eyes a little. "She was on some big leave of absence, but she made the squad last semester. Tolly wishes she knew who he was."

Tolliver folded his arms a little and made a dismissive noise. "I will have you know, she has apparently been jonesing for her daily recommended allowance of manliness. She was asking about me."

Barrier blinked in surprise. "Yeah, right."

"You doubt the Sultan?" Tolliver sneered. "Hey, B, can you blame her? She hasn't looked upon the face of awesome in like, five months. Plus, Siren had moves. She showed up and tried out in her underwear just to get my attention."

Barrier leaned down to Roxy and whispered, "don't listen. He's insane. And yeah, Foxy: you did great."

Roxy happily bounced as she heard Saskia. She hadn't talked often to the other friends of Saskia, mostly cause she was still unsure what to make of them. Most of them seemed kinda mean, but she didn't want to upset Saskia by ignoring her friends, so she just smiled and nodded her head in Tolliver's direction.

"Um... Boys are going to be chasing me now though? Why? Did I do something bad?" Roxy said quietly as she tried to figure out what Saskia meant.
