A storm on the horizon...
I'm blue.
There, now that THAT is done, a little bit more about me...
Wait, what? You don't understand why I said that? Well, it's usually the first thing people notice about me. My dark blue skin, the bright blue spots on my face and back, and my brilliant blue hair. How could you miss it?
Oh...why am I blue? Well, I AM a mutant...just look at anything Marvel does in their comic books. Beast, Nightcrawler, that naked shapechanger...all blue.
Granted, they were probably born blue. I WAS normal...at least, that's what I'm told.
Yeah, that's right...I wasn't born a mutant. I had nothing special about me, other than the fact that I cried and burped and giggled like most babies do.
My father didn't want just "another baby." He wanted an heir. Someone to take up the family business. But his own mutation didn't pass down to me.
So he forced it on me.
My father was the villain known as Thunderhead. He could control the weather with a thought, turning a brillaintly bright, sunny day on the beach into the coldest rainy day in the Arctic. He could conjure up lightning and ride it for great distances to escape capture, and then use it to attack his enemies. He was ruthless, but overall, more of just an annoyance with delusions of grandeur...
At any rate...it was those delusions that caused him to experiment on us.
Oh, I'm sorry. Yeah, I'm the youngest of 10 born...and the youngest of 3 still around today...
And I'm the only one that got HIS "blessing." I wasn't even a year old when he "perfected" me.
The next day, he died. I almost died with him.
You've heard of the disaster in Siren's Call, right? Well, that's where we lived, that's where he had his secret base, and that was where the hero known as Sunburst killed himself and a petty thief in a supernova-like explosion that took out half the city.
Not many people know of the first one...mostly because it really just destroyed a couple buildings. My father was in the middle of an experiment that went horribly wrong. The power generators overloaded. He had enough time to get to where I was being kept before the explosion...
I was trapped in the rubble for a day and a half, held in my father's limp arms. I think that was the only compassion he ever showed me.
I thank God everyday for daddy. He was one of the many heroes called in to help find survivors. His name is Jason St. Peter. You might know him as the Air Man, one of very few heroes also in the military. He found me crying that day, and he took me up into his arms, protecting me. He adopted me a year later, when my mother couldn't be found. He began to show me what it meant to use the blessings we have for good. He even designed the special gauntlets I wear that amplify sound and allow me to project it forcefully at an opponent. And I've lived with him and learned from him ever since, for 14 years now...
What? The math doesn't add up?
Yeah, I know I'm sixteen, and I went to live with him when I was one...I know there is a year in there missing.
It's a story for another day. Maybe when I have peace, then I'll tell ya. But, suffice it to say, the Council better watch their backs.
They took from me the only person I love more than anything. And I will make them pay.
My name is Jessica St. Peter.
But they will know me by a differnent name.

*Overheads the conversation about spots and looks around.* Oh hey there. And I have spots too, Kali! *feigns a upset look* By the way, welcome, Jessy was it? I'm Jake. Don't worry about Kali, I think all the caffeine has gone to her brain. *grins*
