The Alt Policy

Post by Mimi »

Saint Joseph School allows its members to enroll multiple characters (commonly called "alts", short for "alternate characters") in the supergroup. Follows is our alt policy.
  • All members are allowed to have up to 3 enrolled characters at a time.
  • A player may not enroll a new character while any of his or her existing characters are on probation.
  • Current members may take new characters through the Character Workshop instead of using the Interview process.
  • Secret alts are discouraged, but not forbidden.
How do I use the Character Workshop?
Please refer to the threads Welcome to the Workshop and The Way It Works.

Can current members use the Interview process instead of the Character Workshop?
Yes, though we somewhat discourage it. The Character Workshop has been a huge success for helping to get alts introduced and established.

Why are secret alts discouraged?
Because it's impossible to keep your identity secret. All it requires is a few mouse clicks and someone can have your global handle. Once they have that, it's just a matter of connect-the-dots to figure out who else you play. We won't prohibit you from trying to make a secret alt, but be aware that you're setting yourself up for disappointment if you think it's going to stay secret.
