Valerie Vanessa Bower skipped through the busy halls of Saint Joseph’s High School, humming with a lively tune. She was extremely happy on this marvelous day; springtime was finally here! It was finally warm enough for Val to do whatever she wanted without risk of freezing! She was free! After a few minutes of intense skipping, she made it to her class: English.
She shuffled into class with the rest of the kids trying to beat the late bell, and quickly got into her seat next to Missy Parker and her boyfriend, Frank Harmon. The two were passionately kissing in the two seats next to her, and Val groaned at the sight. Suddenly, as the bell rung and the teacher started to take roll, Val started to feel odd. She became light-headed and her heart started to beat quicker.
“Valerie? Valerie!”
Val looked up and blushed.
“Here!” She blurted.
For the rest of class, Val felt the same problem thinking, and whenever she tried to concentrate on something her mind always wandered. At the end of class, Val was relieved her torture was finally over. As she left the room, Tony Kite walked up to her and hit her on her shoulder playfully, saying “Hey Val!”
Suddenly, Val’s instincts took over and she pounced on the winged boy, kissing him. After realizing what she did, Val shrieked and ran away to the girls’ bathroom.
