The arrival of Darweshi Brown.
Darweshi stepped off the train after twisting his shoulders a bit to lessen the space he took up in the doorway. The large green military surplus bag hung from one hand, packed to the point where it looked like it was about to explode, easily carried by the large youth. The train had taken him close to the Saint Joseph's campus, but not quite there just yet. That was no matter, however...by the grace of Janja, he had gained the ability to fly short distances. While he wasn't that fast in the air, it sure as hell beat walking. Once clear of the train platform, he made sure to cinch up the bag across his shoulders and took off, floating into the sky with ambient silver-white light whisking off of his body like long strands of hair. The flight gave him time to reflect on his coming here...while not quite his choice, he hardly had any say in the matter.
Lord...please don't let there be any stupid people hangin' around the school when I get there... He thought to himself, and hearing a faint echo of a laugh in his mind after he thought it. In short order, the school rose up out of the horizon and Dar steered his way down towards the ground.
Take care Angavu...this is a new territory...be on your guard. The gravely voice of Hodari whispered in his mind. Darweshi blocked him out with a grunt and moved forward, opening the doors to the new life he was going to lead.
==================================================================================================
Name: Darweshi Brown A.K.A: The Angavu (The Shining One in Masai)
Age: 16
Hair color: Black, but he shaves his head bald.
Eye color: Dark brown.
Height: 5'11"
Powers: Darweshi has gained his powers from the manifestation of four Masai Guardian Spirits which have fused with his soul. These Masai Spirits are ancestral guardians passed down through his bloodline, which, if traced back to ancient Kenya, results in a lineage of powerful Laiboni, or medicine men. Normally, all Masai kinsmen have one Guardian Spirit, bestowed on them through the workings of Ngai, the Masai Creator God. These spirits give Darweshi a wide array of powers, including the raw control over spiritual energy, which can be shaped in various ways depending on which spirit is being drawn upon at a certain time. Of the four spirits, Hodari the Brave is the one who seems to converse with Darweshi the most, and is the one who is prevalent whenever Darweshi is in his human form. Darweshi can call upon the three other spirits, Janja the Cunning, Ghadhabu the Wrathful, and Busaru the Wise and literally transform himself into their physical avatar, each one with various different powers.
Personality: Darweshi is a short tempered, isolated, and grumpy individual. He doesn't make friends easily and doesn't enjoy having to come to the school. While he has found some people in his stay in Paragon to be decent enough, he still doesn't open up to anyone. In addition, he has a fairly bad streak about him. His youth was troubled and he got into violence and petty crime at a young age. These tendencies still seem to crop up at times, but Paragon seems to be changing him slightly, or so it seems. It is the hopes of his parents that his stay at SJS will curb his darker side and keep him out of a life of crime. It should also be noted that Darweshi is a Christian, and how he has taken the reveal of the Masai spirits is unknown.
History: Darweshi grew up on Lancaster Ave. in Philadelphia, PA near 44th, and 45th street. This is not the best part of town in the slightest, and he had a difficult time growing up. He has both his father and mother living there, along with his baby sister Akeyo. When Darweshi was younger, around the age of 14, he was caught in the line of fire of a gang dispute in which he was shot multiple times. Miraculously, Darweshi survived the shooting and now seems better than ever before. It should also be mentioned that it was at this time that the Spirits first came to Darweshi. Whether his recovery was assisted by the Spirits themselves is not known to anyone but Darweshi, but he doesn't speak of them. At first, he kept his powers under strict control, but soon began to enjoy using them, especially for his own personal gain. Being able to fly away from an angry shopkeeper after shoplifting, or knocking a rival back with a blast of pure energy seemed to grow on the boy. When his parents found out, they acted in an even stricter way than they normally had been, and threatened to send him to a military prep school to clean up his act. Darweshi refused, and after heated debate, decided on sending him to Saint Joseph's, where other youths that had abnormalities about them would be schooled together and taught ethics of the use of their powers.
