Well here it is, my first official post. So without delay....
I'd like to strongly Urge the leadership to set up a Global Chat Channel. My reasons for this are wholey selfish and inspired through greed. Well not realy but here are some good reasons.
I play CoH & CoV and I'm sure a few others do too. This channel would allow us to keep in touch so that if somethig interesting comes up on the "side" we are not currently playing on we dont miss out and can go join in. It would make it easier to find teams within the SGs without haveing to switch chars to see if anyone is playing on the other "side".
With that said this channel would probly not support roleplaying very well, it would definatly be an experiment, maybe the RP can be pulled off, we've all seen X-Men evolution I'm sure and the good & bad guys all manage to go to the same school and interact without constant combat so maybe we could do it as well.
Anyhow, food for thought. I personally would love it to be available and if I recall its not hard to create and there is no maintenance.

Ok, I have spoken with Mimi about this.
Tonight, I will be on at about 2200 to 2230 to create the "SJSGlobal" global chat channel.
I will be posting a bind on how to easily send to the channel, some links to the official CoH information on Global Chat, and some basic commands to make yourself "invisible" should you wish to do so.
However, there are a few ground rules:
1) Participation in the Global Channel is NOT MANDATORY IN ANY WAY.
2) Global Chat should be limited to OOC chat.
3) All chat needs to stay PG-13 on Global.
4) The student council can determine who recieves Admin status.
5) The Global channel will be a Private channel, i.e. you must be invited. That way, we can help ensure that the only people who are on the channel are people who want to be there.

I know this thread is a couple months old but is there a global channel for SJS?
I'm already in the Conglomerate, Rock On and Canada channels and they are alot more convienient than any sg or coallition chat since you can use them on any character you are playing and the binds will show the global, toon name, and level.
If this channel is in use I'd like to get invited to it.

Yup, I've had global channels completely eaten by the server, and a few others doing odd things. Then there's the current bug where global just cuts out for fun every now and then, which means people miss half the conversation then everyone gets VERY confused 
I'd love SJS global to be up and running just to be able to ping who is online so I can get some good, roleplay-driven teams. I'm also an altoholic, so I'm likely to be playing any one of a vast range of characters.
