Accolades, TF's, & Badge Tours
I've seen alot of great things going on at the school, and was wondering if any of my fellow Cheersquad people would like to help me sponsor a weekly, or bi-weekly event where we work on Accolades, TF's, and Badge Tours.
My proposal is this: The first event is for SJS students and faculty, while the next one is open to those outside of our hallowed halls. I prefer bi-weekly events, but weekly works just as well. If it's a weekly event, we can set up a different thing that we shoot for, each week. the two teams should not gather on the same night, thus, we get our presence seen even more... I'm leaving this as is, so that others may fine tune my general proposal to become something we can all agree upon, though we should do two per event, so as to include the community we serve.

Well, I don't want to be a wet blanket for some of the other great ideas in this area, but over 25 people have looked at this, and of them, only one person has had anything to say about it... I guess you're right, though. Looking to some of the other ideas, I see 58 views to 5 replies, 205 views to another small handfull of replies...

Folks if you are interrested in seeing this happen, please say so. Else, how will Franky or any of us others on the cheersquad know what needs to be considered? I, personally would like to know, because if nobody is going to show up at these things, I could be doing missions instead, and actually levelling myself up. We need to know if there is an interrest, or not.

Okay! Saying so!
I think this is a great idea. I'd love to see a little more "reach out" happen, and the cheer squad is a great focus group to start with. Quill ran some badge tours and they were always packed. I would say, just make it a regular thing, and be patient while the crowd grows. Like any in-game event, it may not be packed the first few times, but word spreads.

huh. ayuh!
i loved the badge tours that Quill ran, not only for the actual 'hey, who can touch the plaque first' contest, but also just to run around with some of the SJS that i might not normally get a chance to meet - leveling and rp requirements being what they are.
that being said .. can i make a scheduled event? hell, no. will i try? hell, yes. what can i say? i think its a fantastic idea but if you are trying to get a minimum number of students to commit to coming out before you'll consider it then .. i dunno, you might setting up more pressure for yourself than you really might want to get into.
did that makes sense?

"So pay attention to me; I don't talk for my health."
"I want you on my team."
"... So does everybody else."

Yeah, it made sense. And if all we get is a couple of SJS students, then we can invite outside folks. But, you kinda hit it on the head. I wanted one tour for us, so we can get more familiar with one another, and just kick back for the hahas. The next one would be for us to include others, so we don't end up becoming an exclusive, and misconceived crowd by those not enrolled in the school.
What would be funny is to RP some of this! Chasing down Pookie, as it runs around gobbling badges, or maybe catching up with Faster as she goes from one shiny thing to the next... The ideas abound! It has such potential that it's amazing we don't already do this!

Hey, I was there for the last one....I think......and we had a blast. One big group of 8, although essentially we split into two groups of 4, ran all over Talos chasing down masks, sorcerors, ghost ships...First time I'd see that btw, and it was all just COOL! Let's see what were some of my memories from that night. Hmmm....Oh, how about Sapphire pulling me out of a fight mid punch, before I could trigger dark regen, Then she and I tag teaming some hapless Tsoo, that I don't think ever got off the ground, and bounced all over the map. Running in the tunnel with Kris, thinking that we'd gotten away from another Tsoo, only to hear that sickening *shuck* sound as its blade bit in my back....one shot, one kill. Watching the mini map as our green arrows swarmed around like a bunch of drunken ants! I'm in!

Here's my two cents:
A) Scheduled events: The less people you have to organize, the better. Bring a damage mitigator (tank, troller, fender) and a gomer-toter (someone with recall friend.)
B) Advertising: Place this on the COH forums as well. Set a date at least one week in advance. Then do it.
C) Outside the box: You will have an easier time of getting together large groups of non-SG people together than SG folks.
D) Don't get discouraged: If 4 people show up, that's 4 people who can help you run the next one. As others said, start small.
