"Oh... uh... yeah... Ummm... do me a favor, Simon and don't freak out... but Annie's in that room... She was trying to catch up to me... I just told her... something... and... I ran away... and she was trying to make sure I was alright, but a building ran into her... We were in Dark Astoria... I am so sorry, Simon."
She looks back to the doctor, Kris and her brother, hoping that they don't find her there.

Rin sat in his dorm room... a can of Rockstar and an empty bottle lay on the nightstand beside him, the headaches from hearing about so much pain and suffering had gotten to him lately.
He was angry at the entire school.
He knew that most of the things that happened couldnt have been helped, weren't anyones fault, just coincidence and consequence... but even still he couldnt help but fell so much guilt and anger at his classmates.
Why did Kris have to take Pu into the reactor... Why wasnt she strong enough to help her... Where was everyone else and why werent they strong enough to save her... Where were Detective, Mimi, Mis, Kali, anyone! ...when Pu needed them the most they were no where to be found...all of you...
Rin rolled over in bed and reached into his bedside drawer picked up his acceptance letter to St. Joe's
...And now Annie? She was the first person I met at school... and no one could even help her... ... ...
... ... ... I couldn't even help her...
Fuming at his thoughts and feeling even more guilty about having them, even more guilty at being so weak, Rin pulled out a bottle of sleeping pills from the drawer popped a couple and tried to close his eyes.

"Listen," he whispered flatly. "Ah know yer tryin' ta keep somethin' from me, but yer doin' a lousy job of it. Sorry. Ah'm not focusin' on Annie right now, 'cause she has the doc, and whoever else is in there with her. If Ah focus on her, folks ain't gonna like it, and she'll end up in a tissy over what may happen."
Suddenly it hit Simon, like a ton of bricks. Cold to the touch, glowing eyes, an almost deadly palor to the skin. His eyes widened, and his pulse quicked, he seened to glow from the rush of blood circulating, now. He tried to rationalize it, but his mind had already settled on the conclusion.
"You're a... *swallow* ...a vampire," he blurted the question in an even more hushed tone than before.

If Angel had any real blood left in her body, it would have flushed away at that moment when Simon spoke those words...
"You're a... *swallows*... vampire..."
Angel pleads with Simon, "Simon please... shhhh... Do me a favor and make sure that Annie stays ok. Help her get better. She needs all the friends she can get right now. Tell everyone that I said goodbye, please. I can't stay here anymore. Too many people already know. Next thing you know, I'm going to have a lynch mob after me with pitchforks and torches."
She looks at him as if tears are to start filling her eyes. She looks back to Annie one last time, just as Oby, her brother happens to look outside with al the whispering. She gasps and runs out of the infirmary, buzzing past Simon. She concentrates and teleports herself out of the hallway, to the dorms. She runs down the hallway, rushing into Quad 4.
She immediately begins packing a small suitcase.
"I need to leave. Too many people are going to get hurt."
((For those that are curious, the story revolving around Angel will continue in the Deception Thread))

Obsidian spotted his sister and her quick departure, and looked to Annie. He shook his head, seemed his sister now had more to answer for. "Enough of this crap" he growled, and faded into shadow. "Kris, Sapphire's gonna answer for things...now. I'll be back, soon, but you call me if anything changes, please." Before Kris could respond, Oby left with all the speed he could muster, and with a pretty good idea where Sapphire might go.

Having only just now recognized more voices coming to medical, Doctor Orson turns in time to watch Antoine... Obsidian Seraph... excuse himself from the side of his friend he had wanted so desperatly to stay beside before.
"For a boy of stone, he sure is led around by his heart", she thought as he rushed past the approaching nun.
"Alright, Kristina, if you are so unwilling to tell me who I should be doing consulting work with, I think you should sit down next to your friend. You're getting an exam wether you like it or not, and don't think that just because I'm neither a nun or a super that I can't make it happen. I can give you the comm codes of at least three Rikti veterans who will back me up on that!"
Getting up from the console, Sylvia went to grab her tablet PC and begin the unexpected battery of tests. "Of all the nights to have played poker..."
It was at this point that Simon walked through the door, nursing his wound.
"Simon? What's the matter dear, what's happened?"

Kris hopped int the indicated place, and prepared herself for testing. She considered what she was told. Would it be okay to tell her? No. Doc Rose said her identity had to remain anonymous. Although what she and Pluto had done was not an issue, per se. Just unethical for a doctor to do.Annie Dromida wrote:"Alright, Kristina, if you are so unwilling to tell me who I should be doing consulting work with, I think you should sit down next to your friend. "I'll be able to say what Pluto and I did, Doc. I just can't name the source, although, I have to say my theory wasn't very far from the prescription, which is why I sought the person out, and got the instructions of how to do it safest."

"Well, Ah had a nasty run in with a Circle of Thorns defender in Eastgate Heights, Doc," he replied as calmly as he could. "He decided he wanted to leave me with a partin' gift."Annie Dromida wrote:It was at this point that Simon walked through the door, nursing his wound.

He nodded to the hilt of the kris dagger sticking from the wrappings.
"It's startin' ta throb, so Ah figured ta come on in. Sorry fer interrruptin' ya'll."

"Fine. Triage. Kristina, it seems you have earned yourself a delay, but you are not leaving here, is that understood young lady? I need to make sure you haven't been taken in by some snake-oil salesman... Simon, get up on the other bed over there next to Annie."
Abandoning the tablet PC to the side table, Doctor Orson retreived a multioptic headset she was able to get on surplus from Chiron Medical, a pair of sterile gloves, and a few tools she had been able to request from SERAPH after the newest batch of radiological based students had arrived. She had had to give up her budget for the more research-based instruments she had wanted installed this school year, but never was she going to put furthering science above the well-being of a single student.
"Now, this is going to hurt, but I can't risk using the usual antisthetics until you come in for more exams. Or have you forgotten that you've missed your last three appointments?"
Lowering the visor, the thirty-something woman went straight to work on examining and removing the exotic blade from the boy's side.
"Now, until someone can give me the full and factual story on what has happened to Ms. Dromida, we are going to have a talk. Kristina, are you listening to me?"

Simon perked up. He knew he could help a little, here.
"What happened ta Annie? Well, according ta Angel, she and Detective brought her here, after she collided with a building someplace. Ah think she said Annie was flyin' after her," the boy volunteered. "She seemed ta really feel bad about it all, and said to say goodbye, before she left. Although, it makes ya wonder what the heck happened that she couldn't see a buildin' comin' up."

"They followed me to Dark Astoria. All I wanted was to sort my head out, but Detective and the others kept showing up! Angel or Annie would have been fine, but the other two came along, and exasperated things, I imagine," Kris admitted. "I got tired, and had to come back. Angel said she and Annie had to talk, so I didn't think I was needed anymore. I fell asleep on the Yellow Line train."

"Simon, quit moving so much! You're..... 'bleeding' all over the place, and this is delicate work!"
It was as the students spoke their stories that Sister Mary Carmen rushed through the entrance to the room, preparing for any number of possibilities.
"Sweet Lord Almighty. Is that why Antoine nearly rushed over me? Both of you should count your blessings that worse didn't happen in that accursed place. Doctor Orson, what is it that I can do to aid you?"
Not looking up from her removal of the blade, Doc Syl spoke through teeth gritted in concentration. "Well, for starters, I need you to inform Annie's teachers that she is not going to be attending class today, and possibly tomorrow. She is stable, but as you have just heard, she's taken quite a spill. I'm also asking that you make sure it's well known that Ms. Dromida will be fine, but she needs a bit of bed rest, and that her open campus privileges are being revoked do to this incident. The last thing we need is for panic and speculation to run wild. I'm sorry to alarm you, Sister Mary Carmen, but I didn't want someone down here when it was too late."
"Of course, I'll inform everyone at once. Thank you, Doctor Orson."
"Thank you, Sister."
Once the nun had left, Sylvia shifted her weight to inspect the wound and blade a bit closer. Damn those cultist for using such a weapon on a child...
"Now for you, Kristina. You've been very quick to put yourself in harm's way quite often, and unfortunately that is something that this world needs sometimes. But I'm going to tell you something right now, young lady; No matter how brilliant you have become, no matter what abilities you have gained, no matter how many times you have stood in the line of fire, you are still a child. 'Young woman' may be more appropriate for your appearance and age, but you have not finished growing up."
Finally, through glowing energy and mass, the dagger slipped free of Simon's body. As soon as the dagger was on the metal tray, doctor Orson began applying what looked like flexible adhesive metal strips to the stab wound.
"You have learned more than is demanded of most others your age, but you have most certainly not earned the right to go above the heads of the people who's care you have been entrusted to. Instead of coming to us the next morning when all we can do is pick up the pieces, look to us when things are starting to come apart! You're going to graduate in a few years, and when you do we hope you will be prepared to face the world on your own terms. But I think that this last evening has shown that you still have a lot to learn."
Turning and washing off the blade, Sylvia lifted the visor off of her face to show a look of concern. She had no doubt that Kris had no idea what was going to happen when she went to Terra Volta, but that girl was going to have to live with those events forever. And if she didn't learn a proper perspective on what was going on, she would be in for more pain in life later on that no amount of medical care would be able to heal.

She was right. It was the worst thing she could have done. But, on the same token, she couldn't just sit there and die. She had to do something about it. And now, in the fallout of it all, her friend, one of a select closest few was lying there, with nothing Kris could do for her.
"Yes ma'am," Kris nodded. "I suppose you're going to want me to elaborate on this some more once you're done with Simon?"

"Simon's going to need some rest. I don't particularly feel like sending him back to class right away, because we don't know if there was anything particularly special about this knife yet."
Doctor Orson carefully placed the knife into a biohazard bag, the visor still resting on her head but propped up just above her eyes. Taking the weapon to the lab table, Doc Syl then turned her attention back on the empath.
"Kristina, what happened? I don't care what you can't tell me, so please don't act like you have to protect me from whatever it is you don't want to say. However, if my examinations of you show that you're in worse shape than before the Greir's had set in, I will go to the headmaster and I will recommend that that your college level courses be suspended until further notice. You will then have your security level frozen, and you will not be able to patrol until a medical board approves the reinstatement of your license. And you know that I can get the pull to do that if you've been paying close enough attention to Mr. Lowery's class."
Kris looked back at the doctor. What could she tell her? And what would happen to Kris’s future if she was sidelined?
