Father Robert Montoya

Post by Jaygo Jones »

Father Robert Montoya is not just a teacher or counselor, but more of the spiritual patriarch of the school. He is middle-aged but going on old, with glasses and gray hair. He's been at SJS as long as anyone can remember, except maybe Scruffy-- but Scruffy won't say.

Father Bob, as he likes to be called, is an old horse among the Catholic community of Paragon City. At Saint Joe's, he celebrates Mass and generally ministers to the student body (and to the faculty, too). He takes confession and is one of the only men allowed anywhere near the residence. Though his voice carries a great deal of weight, he prefers to leave the day to day business of actually running the school to the administration, preferring to do the job he has done for many years... give hope.

Because of his fatherly demeanor, he is often compared to the motherly Sister Mary Moltar, he is not nearly as meddlesome. Known for his ability to calmly approach a situation, he often gains the trust and respect from the students because he is often willing to turn a blind eye to their extracurricular adventures just so long as they come to confession. Over the years, one student or another would return to find Father Bob calmly waiting for them with firm words of warning and a warm smile.

I like this idea a lot, with only two points worth mentioning...

I don't think Father Bob should be the headmaster... maybe more like the Chaplain or something... I think, for our OOC sakes, we should have a layman as the headmaster.

Two, when did Mary Moltar become a "bad cop"? That's totally Salvation's deal. Moltar is just meddlesome, which still stand her in contrast to Father Bob.

But I like it, let's roll with it :)

Hey now Sister Salvation is perfectly fine to hang out with....just don't let her catch you smoking in the bathroom....she bums all your cigarettes.

You know, that's what I hear anyway...

Not so, Francis. I will just confiscate the cigarettes and um, destroy them. Yes, I will personally destroy them for your own good!

*nods to this*

And I am not a "bad cop" I just like things to be a certain way, it just happens to always be my way.
