Lilly Gains had a tiny problem. She was used to tiny problems. At sixteen years of age she wasn't only two and one halve feet tall. She was a dwarf, her body was of normal human proportions, she was just small, and she could get even smaller. She was a student at Saint Josephs High School in Paragon City because she was a mutant. Lilly could will herself down to the size of Polly Pocket doll. Well NOW she could will herself down to that size, but before the staff at St. Joes had helped her she used shrink down every time she got frightened.
She had tried briefly her hand at being a superhero. But somehow the code name “Lilliputian” failed to strike fear in the heats of her foes. If truth be told it really only struck fears in the hearts of her teammates. CRUNCH! “Oh my gawd what was that? Where is Lilly? Did I just step on Lilly?” wasn’t the world’s greatest battle cry. Halloween was even worse; she looked like a trick or treater. Even the Circle of Thorns would offer her candy saying she was sooo cute. After two years at security level one Lilly hung up her tights.
Fortunately Lilly was BIG in the brains department. She was among the tops in her class in all categories. Lilly took great pride in this. Her school work always came first! She had spent countless hours on her current assignment. It was a report on the migratory pattern of the Greater North America Spine Backed Tree Toad. It had diagrams and color glossy pictures. It had charts and graphs and the bibliography alone took seven pages! She had, had it bound professionally and THAT was where the problem started. She was walking to the Green Line the report clutched tight to her chest when the siren went off…
So that was her tiny problem. She found herself standing tearfully before Sister Mary Martha, for the first time in her young life her assignment would not be on time... “An F” she stammered, “but Sister honest the Rikti ATE my homework!”
