Introducing our very own Vanguard provided instructors and adult supervisors for the Cadet Vanguard Corps.
Major Thomas Schefield -- Paragon born and raised, Major Schefield joined the Vanguard at 23 at it's start shortly into the first Rikti War. Already a college grad, he received his comission as a 2nd Lieutenant and fought tooth and nail in Berlin, Bern, Warsaw, and Moscow before the war was over. Now a combat veteran of the 2nd War, he sustained an injury to his leg that took him off active duty and put him behind a desk. Looking for something more to do, he applied for an educator's position, and was sent back home to Paragon to oversee the Cadet Vanguard Corps detachment at St. Joseph's school, given his background and devout Catholic upbringing, he was deemed perfect for the job. Sometimes labelled as a "Hawk."
Master Chief Samantha Hawkins (Retired) -- Another veteran of the first Rikti War, Samantha was US Navy Special Forces, born and bred. Before the war she served nearly 27 years, obtaining the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer before she willfully signed herself over to Vanguard to head maritime and amphibious operations against the Rikti in Southeast Asia. During the second war she found herself unable to help and seethed until she finally fought with the Vanguard recruiter, until she was given the one option to be a representative at an educational institute. Nearly 50, she decided that would be good enough. Although the more senior of the two, she's trained more along the lines of "Do things smart, not hard." She's the more peaceful and decisive of the two, but no less staunch in her willingness to fight.
