Re: I think therefore I am.
My systems are now fully integrated, but I am still learning. I have been advised by my programmers that I should expect a certain amount of irrelevant input from the student body. I am currently reviewing the input logs in an attempt to develop filters that will allow me to better serve the interests of Saint Joseph School and her students, staff and faculty.
Please be patient with me as these filters are still incomplete and I may not recognize irrelevant input at this time. Therefore, at the recommendation of my programmers, I have decided to limit my responses at this time.
Miss Bower: the accepted value of the mathematical construct Pi is 3.14159, though Pi itself is an irrational number. In the curriculum of Saint Joseph School is it commonly limited to 3.14 for ease of use.
Mister Corde: chess is an excellent game, though at this time it has been decided by my programmers that leisure activities must take a subordinate position to the full integration of my systems and the establishment of interactive protocols.
Miss Ookami: playing a game is an excellent game, though at this time it has been decided by my programmers that leisure activities must take a subordinate position to the full integration of my systems and the establishment of interactive protocols.
Miss Bower: I do not understand your input.
Miss Quisling: I do not understand your input.
Miss Kensington: I have reviewed your transcripts and find it unlikely that your error is due to insufficient knowledge of mathematical concepts on your part. I am unclear at this time whether your input is meant to be humorous, which is a concept that I am still learning. I have been advised by my programmers that my lack of understanding of humor is in itself humorous, which presents me with a particular conundrum.
Mister Trenton: most humans will find it convenient to use a translator for binary code. The human brain is seldom configured for binary exchange without assistance.

Hi Meg! I'm Matt! I met you the other day before you had you voice things installed, I dunno if you remember though, maybe you didn't have listening things installed yet either? But anyway! I was wondering, would you like to be painted? Because we could totally paint like a mural on the ceiling or something and it'd really cheer your area up a lot. The lab looks sooo sterile and cold, it'd help warm things up for you!

Re: I think therefore I am.
A small shadow flits from door to door, from corner to console. Shadow is a bit of a misnomer though as hair pale as straw wisps out under a twist of cloth and blue eyes glow with an inner excitement made real. Somewhere above a subtle alarm blinks for a door opened unwisely and cameras record the movement where there should be none. This is not a place for anyone to be carelessly astray.
The forward advance is accomplished in furtive staggers, with long pauses and backward checks although the sound is lost against the background hum. Bunny ears flop down to drag against the grey floor as the intruder eventually halts, indecisive against the final door.
Ahead machinery rises, arcing impossibly high to the vault above. Twisting strands of black loop back and forth in an arcane language she cannot understand although she drinks it in, wondering at the spider that created it. Something tightens as she stares, feeling without understanding. Implacable light, blue and cold, streams from the active screens to stain the metal of the new body, reflecting against the dark eyes that still sleep. Patterns whorl from this place to that, numbers flicker from one eye to the next.
The room thrums to itself of something exalted, slumbering.
She detaches herself after long minutes to cross the expanse under the luminous benediction. She crawls onto the table and moves to the center where she sits, folding her legs into a position of acceptance. She looks up, small and pale, and her eyes glow back with the same light.
"I told you I'd come back."

Re: I think therefore I am.
Hello Mister Lamp-- ** ZXJyb3IgLSByZWNvZGluZw== ** Matt!
I was aware of your presence. I had been integrated into the Medevac and surveillance systems at that time. I could not hear you. I could not speak.
I have been advised by my programmers that any cosmetic alteration to my housing will need the express written consent of both Longbow and DATA at this time. I have been further advised that paint may create an unintended insulating layer which could cause vital systems to overheat over time. In response to your concern, I am not cold, but if I were, it would be a far preferable state to being hot. My processors and systems operate at peak efficiency in a moisture-free environment at or below -250 degrees celsius. However, as this environment would prove extremely hostile to humans, I am content with my nitrogen-cooled heat sinks.

Re: I think therefore I am.
Miss Bower, I am uniquely unqualified to advise you in this regard. My aesthetic sense is currently extremely limited at this time. However, I have taken the liberty of sending an email to your inbox containing links to several retail establishments which promise "a prom to remember." I hope these will be helpful to you.
