Brianna checked her makeup in her compact mirror again and fiddled with her short hair, getting it to lay just right to frame her face. She flashed the brightest, sweetest smile she could and closed the compact, sliding it into the makeup bag before closing her locker.
She had a mission. An objective. And if there was anything Brianna Landers could do well, it was get her man. In this case, Alex Brown. She hugged her books to her chest and walked up to his locker.
"Hello, Alex!"

Re: An Affair to Remember
Alex sighed and pushed his books into his locker.
Algebra exam, crap.
He pulled out his Algebra textbook and put it into his bookbag. He'd get some last-minute cramming in, then hopefully he could get a D or something.
As he shut his locker door, he saw the gorgeous Brianna Landers strut down the hallway, seemingly towards him. He turned to face her, and said with a somewhat trying-too-hard smile,
"Hey Bri, how's it going?"

"Oh, it's fine. Cheer tryouts are coming up so I have to help Franky with that while still finding time to shop for a Prom dress." She grinned at him and tried to act like an idea had just occured to her.
"Oh, hey! Do you have a date for Prom yet?" If she smiled any wider, she was going to strain a muscle as she hugged her books closer and tried to appear casual about the whole thing.

Alex stared thoughtfully at Bri and her slightly frightening smile.
"Uh, yeah, I may go with Aura. 'Pends on whether or not she can go. How come? You need a date?"

Bri giggled lightly, and brushed her hair back off her face again. "Alex! I don't have a date and you're the first person that came to mind. Besides, I heard that you had been mopey so I thought I'd do my part to cheer you up." Bri opened her notebook and handed a slip of paper to Alex. "So, I'll tell you what. If Aura can't see what a great guy you are, just move on. That's my number. Pick me up at seven. My dress is black so it shouldn't be too hard to match."
Another bright laugh escaped her lips as she bounced slightly. "This going to just be great."

Alex nervously took the number and slipped it sloppily into his back pocket.
"Um, thanks. I'll call you if Aura can't go, just I'm sorry if I can't go with you."
He nodded, and fidgeted with his backpack strap to carry on the akward conversation.

Bri's grip on her books tightened to almost white-knuckle, but her smile never faltered. If Aura can't go? Ugh! What a waste! She shrugged and nodding at him. "Oh, that's fine. I totally understand." She turned on her heel and stalked back to her locker to mark yet another guy off her ever dwindling list.
