Re: Cheer Squad..RAH!
As the lady said, Cheer Squad has been summarily resurrected...(and the fact that my name is Franky hasn't escaped me). We've got a lot of things in the works including upcoming RP, Events, and what have you.
But first, we need to finalize the uniform and post instructions on how to get it. Then, I'm going to set up new try-outs for those of you who are interested.
I encourage any and all SJSers to give us feedback on the uniform, even if you don't plan on joining Cheer Squad.

One of the best places I have found to research Cheer uniform designs is this site. They sell uniforms and have a sketch of all their possible designs on that site. So look around! Come up with designs! Let's get back to cheering!

Ha great minds think alike or something, I was looking at that exact site earlier today!

Re: Cheer Squad..RAH!
I like the Hacker pattern. The only issue is it's not available to guys.
I'd also like to stick to the flared skirt and fitted sleeves personally. Here's a couple sets I came up with:
Peak pattern:

The advantage of Peak is the "J" doesn't get lost in the patten. It looks good on both girls and guys, if a little plain.
Diablo pattern:

The Diablo pattern is basicly a switch of Peak. Again the "J" doesn't get as lost, and it looks decent on both.
Dagger pattern:

This is probably my favorite and I will continue to advocate for it. I swtiched the colors and darkened the blue from the last time I submitted this. I believe this pattern looks the most like a cheer uniform, it looks fantastic on both genders, and with the right coloring, the "J" will still stand out.

Try using the yellow of the school symbol for the J with a dark outline. It will make it stand out more.

I think we should stick with the royal blue instead of the darker blue. The Flyers colors always seemed like they would be brighter.
And out of curiosity, are we planning on having an S-J-S, three cheerleader line? Otherwise the J is kinda by itself.

I'm not a fan of the dagger pattern for it. It seems too complex/busy to me.
I liked the belt you used in these images: link
I like the skirt as blue with a white line near the hem. And I like the shorter style you're using.
I agree with Franky, I think the lighter brighter colors are better.
Just curious, but why not try a few designs with the SJS school logo?

The problem with the logo is it only takes one color. So if it crosses the pattern, you lose part of it. I could try it in the yellow and see how that looks. And I do agree with Franky on the brighter colors. I'm just trying all kinds of combonations. Cause I like playing Barbie dolls.

I also prefer the "dagger" pattern.
Origin: 1200–50; ME misericorde lit., pity, mercy, an act of clemency
misericordia pity, equiv. to misericord- (s. of misericors) compassionate
(miseri-, s. of miserēre to pity + cord- s. of cor heart) + -ia -y 3

Okay, I tried the school logo, but as I said, it only takes one color. So on every pattern, even if I used the yellow, it would get partially lost in the top. Maybe we just don't need a chest symbol. Use our imagination that it says "Flyers" in loopy embroidery across the front.
I don't know. But I would like to finalize a design soon.

i like the dagger pattern WITHOUT the logo on it.
the white belt and the white line on the skirt are nice.
if we want the "J" symbol, i like the Diablo pattern.

First, I agree that I like the dagger pattern. Second, I think this ^^ idea would be good, especially since 1) most cheerleader uniforms HAVE either the school name or mascot name written across the front, not the school emblem and 2) we already use imagination for most other stuff we say happens, so why not?Brianna Landers wrote:Maybe we just don't need a chest symbol. I like the idea that Time Lapse made for the cheerleading uniforms, true the pattern isn't avaliable for males that may want to cheer. Then again, on most cheerleading teams that I HAVE seen, sometimes the guys uniforms aren't always exactly the same.

Re: Cheer Squad..RAH!
So it sounds like I'm hearing mostly votes for the dagger pattern with some back and forth on the logo? Is this accurate?
